Are you artistic? Do you have a taste for films? The Chicago International Film festival is currently searching for a design for its poster campaign, and you may have a chance to win a $2,500 cash prize.
Hosted by Cinema/ Chicago, a cultural non-profit motion pictures and film organization, the Film Festival is reaching its 52nd anniversary. The event will take place this year in October, and it will showcase the work of numerous international filmmakers over the course of two weeks. The Film Festival will be notable, but first, its goal is to find an eye-catching and impactful poster design to promote its theme, “because everybody loves movies.”
According to Corbin Goldflies of Cinema/ Chicago, “A first prize poster must follow the contest’s rules and guidelines, found at www.chicagofilmfestival.com/poster/, while also giving the Festival a visually striking representation for the general public.” The submission guidelines are that all entries must be submitted in jpeg, tiff, or png format and 27x40 inches in size. Along with their entries, artists must also pay an entry fee of $25. Other rules are posted on the website and should be adhered to as they serve as a fundament to winning the contest.
In addition to the $2500 cash prize, the winner’s name and poster will also be displayed on numerous promotional materials for the Film Festival. Examples of such privilege include having the artist’s winning design shown all over the city in the form of transportation advertisement and t-shirt production. Wherever the winning poster is present, the artist’s name will also be recognized. Above all, the winner has the honor to bring all film lovers together to enjoy cinematic accomplishments.
