Wilbur Wright College will be the fourth out of the seven city colleges to implement the “One Stop Shop”. The other CCC colleges, Malcolm X, Truman, and Harold Washington have already launched and soon after Wright College, the rest (Richard J. Daley, Olive Harvey, and Kennedy King) will follow. The initiative at Wright College began around March 2016 and is anticipating a soft launch on September 26, 2016.

The One Stop Shop at Wright will be located in the Arts Building and will replace the former Financial Aid office (A128). The contractor for Wright College is Pace Systems Incorporation. The source of funding for the district-wide initiative in CCC is from Capital Funds and it is estimated that the total for all seven colleges to implement the One Stop Shop is $1,520,607.02. Wright is estimated to use $233,458.40 and it will include 16 displays, Qnomy touch screen kiosks, new lighting, and modern furniture. The one stop shop will have one huge countertop and will be represented by three different offices: records, financial aid, and admissions. There will also be a waiting area of fifty plus seating aside from new lighting and modern furniture.

The Qnomy kiosks that are being implemented will help ease the flow of traffic between the three services being offered in the One Stop Shop and will ensure that students are being directed to the service that applies to them. The student experience to the Qnomy kiosk will be: first enter CCC ID number and when not knowing student id number the student will be asked to put in their first and last name. After the student inputs their ID number they will then be taken to a welcome screen that includes Admission, Financial Aid, Office of Register, Advising and Gateway, and the Business office.

If the student is not able to find what they are looking for they will be taken to the Welcome Center page for further help. Each office will have a variety of options that students are able to choose from when looking to resolve an issue on their account. For example, under admissions, you can choose from but not limited to application status and general inquiry. The Qnomy info panel will display a now serving ticket number as well as a desk number. Each ticket will be marked with a letter indicating the service. A is for admissions, F is for financial aid. Students will be able to see and hear their ticket number as well as the desk number when called by a staff member.

Construction of the new financial aid office, overseen by City Colleges of Chicago, is to improve and clear admissions and registration experience for new and returning students.

The existing student service model found in many institutions: having these offices located separately are often very confusing to students and to staff. The idea of a one stop is for students to experience these services horizontally. The one stop is both virtual which is the self- service kiosks and physical which is the one stop shop student center. A student might have to make multiple trips to different offices around the Wright College campus to the resolve an issue on their account because the issue itself may be a combination of Financial aid and Registration or related to both Records and Financial aid. Now a student is able to make one trip to the One Stop shop that will be located in the Arts Building: A128.
