Farmer's Fridge is an SPE-certified company whose kiosks are made out of recycled materials and reclaimed barn wood from West Chicago's Modern Urban Woods. Nearly all products are environmentally friendly including 100% recycled paper napkins, biodegradable corn-based PLA packaging, and BPA-free #1 plastic jars you could recycle at any Farmer's Fridge kiosk, or wash and reuse for artsy crafty ideas yourself!
Not only is Farmer's Fridge environmentally friendly, but it also includes a variety of delicious and nutritious salads, snacks, and juices made from local and organic ingredients. Salad options range from a crunchy thai to southwest, and each month holds its own special “Jar Du Jour” salad of the month. Protein options (chicken and tofu), as well as breakfast items, can also be purchased.
Farmer's Fridge menu items are delivered Monday through Friday to machines by 10 am, after being made from scratch with freshly delivered produced, and assembled a mere 5 hours before delivery. Menu options stay fresh for about three days, and any unsold salads are donated to a local food pantry.
