On January 26, Club Day gave Wright College students the opportunity to mingle with the people behind the extracurricular activities that Wright has to offer. From gamers to veterans, almost every club had a representative to inform and entice students into joining their respective grouping. Each club is designed around providing students with the ability to involve themselves in Wright College. Until 2:00 pm, the atrium was lined with tables for IT Club, Style Junkies, Anime Club, Gamer’s club, Gateway Scholars club, the Student Government Association (SGA), Stage Wright, Veterans club, and more.
“Club day helps bring students in and gives people an experience that they wouldn’t get if they just come for their classes and leave. Joining a club can get students feedback on hobbies that they may want to excel in,” said Jose Quintero and McKenzie Lacefield, Vice President and Secretary of the Open Mic Club. Club day is not only about showcasing the various clubs that Wright College has to offer, it is about fostering a sense of community that is essential if one is trying to get the full college experience.

“Clubs can help students feel like they have a place to go if they want to talk with others about a certain interest. It can also help people expand those interests and discover new things about themselves,” said Quintero. Even though each club celebrates different interests, there are always avenues that members and club leaders take to help each other out.
“There are times where clubs will help out other clubs with events and other affairs. It’s interesting the way the club community at Wright College intertwines to create new experiences for the members,” said Lacefield. Whether your interests lie in the intricacies of technology or the competitiveness of gaming, club day brought together the multiple interests of Wright College students.
